Mother

I am a proud mother of two wonderful children. Boy is one year old. Girl is three. We are figuring out how to navigate the world together. I breastfed both kids (Girl for a year, Boy for 4 months). I cloth diaper Boy 85-90% of the time. Both of my kids are super active and smart (I wonder where they get it?!), and they keep me hopping. You’ll find posts in this category related to suggestions of what worked for me, fun things we’ve done, and reflection upon how they’ve changed my life (entirely). This is also where you’ll find my humble opinions on a variety of topics, body & mind posts, and other personal posts that have to do with life in general.

boy cov/ered in melted chocolateWhen you have the opportunity to experience something new, make sure that you pay attention. Soak up the details. Get involved. Get messy. Savor the flavors in life that come your way. Doesn’t everyone have a picture just like this of themselves when they were small? Little kids are the best at really enjoying the details of life. Without reservation, my son savored every morsel of this treat. He didn’t care that it was a Weight Watcher one point special. He just knew it was chocolate, it was delicious, and that it made him happy. Go ahead and judge me if you like, but I knew my son was going to make a mess, and it was almost time for jammies, so I let him ...

Project52 | Sincere

March 23, 2012 Mother.

Honest Eyes of a ChildWhatever you do in life, do your best to do it sincerely. It will show your strength of character, and it will make others feel important. It will gain the respect of others, and from yourself. Be authentic, honest, and sincere, even when the world tries to change you. God doesn’t make mistakes, and He made you just the way you are. While on a photo shoot of a friend’s children, I captured this image of my son. I never looked at the LCD, and totally forgot about it, until I was editing. I opened this one up, and my heart exploded. I was stopped dead in my tracks. I love my son’s eyes. They are big, blue, honest, innocent, loving, and can melt my ...
