I have often been asked what camera I shoot with, and I enthusiastically reply “a CANON!”. I have several friends that shoot with Nikons, but I haven’t ever had that experience. From what I’ve heard, either you tend to one or the other. Since I have always shot with Canons, I am used to their settings and shoot best with them. I shoot with a Canon Rebel XT. I have been thinking about upgrading, but cannot decide between a T2i and a 5D… I have the two kit lenses (18-55mm f 3.5-5.6 and 75-300mm f 4-5.6) and a 50mm f1.8 fixed lens. I do the most with the fixed lately, but maybe that’s because it’s newer and more exciting to explore. E wants to get some IS lenses (none of mine are). I cannot decide where my best photo-equipment-dollar is spent!! What do YOU think?!

Recently, E sent me a fantastic link for tutorials for Canon users. I think both “big time” users and “small time” users can benefit from these helpful hints! I need to sit down and watch them all, and read the many books that I have, and… and… and… I guess that’s why photography is an evolutionary art. You never are done learning!!

Ok, so here’s where you come in: What text/materials did you use that benefited your photo-journey most? Do you think I should upgrade the body or get some new lenses?
