This recipe was found on the back of the Success Rice box. It was super tasty. I will say that I ended up eating it “naked” / sans bun because I couldn’t get the burger to stick together when cooking. Maybe I should have added an egg? Who knows. Either way, it was mad tasty. I used the leftovers of the burger with a jar of Heinz Chili Sauce, a can of baked beans, and a can of kidney beans to make chili like this. It was awesome too. Definitely a repeater for our house! Part one (the burger) is here, part two (the cilantro slaw topping) is next week. Oh, and the Christmas paper plates were used at my cookout this past weekend, because I had them and didn’t get other ones. Keeping it real doesn’t always mean keeping it in season :).

burger-and-slaw
What You’ll Need:

1 bag   Success® White Rice, Success® Brown Rice, or Success® Jasmine Rice

1 lb Ground Chuck
2 1/2 Tbsp Hot and Spicy Taco Seasoning Mix (I used normal, not hot/spicy)
2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
4 each Hamburger Buns

What You’ll Need To Do

Prepare rice according to package directions.  Let cool for 5 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine rice, ground chuck and taco seasoning mix.  Form into four patties sized slightly larger than hamburger buns.  Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.  Add patties and cook 10 to 12 minutes for medium well doneness (165°F), turning once.

To serve, on each hamburger bottom bun, place a cooked patty, an equal amount of slaw

[part two] and top bun.
