“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

sunset

I took this shot less than a mile from my home tonight. The darkness at the bottom is the crest of a hill by my daughter’s soccer field. The weather in Oklahoma has been producing some spectacular sunrises and sunsets recently. In fact, I’d begun riding around with my camera in the car, just in case a sky like this presented itself. I did not change the colors of this picture in editing. I didn’t alter it. I just simply captured God’s artwork.

In life, sunsets and sunrises take place more than in the sky each day. Every day is filled with growth and change. We struggle through learning something one day, and the next we awaken with the skill we needed to achieve, and move on to another goal. We all have a challenge each day, and we have make choices. Every day, we should end the day like this sunset. Go out in a blaze of glory and, as long as this is the case, know that we did our best. Tomorrow will come with another beautiful sunrise with its own challenges, ups and downs, which will not be made any easier by carrying the baggage of yesterday. Even on days that we are tired from our work or play, sometimes we should just pause and enjoy a good sunset. Tonight’s was beautiful. Goodnight.
