Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, is quickly approaching. As a Catholic, I will be spending the 40 days leading up to Easter self-evaluating, giving of myself, praying, and attempting to better myself out of reverence and rememberence of Jesus Christ’s 40 days in the desert, his ultimate sacrifice, and his resurrection. One of the many things that I am going to be doing this year is the Second Annual40 Bags in 40 Days. This tradition, started when I saw many of my friends doing it last year on Facebook, involves taking a plastic grocery bag for each of the forty days and filling it with items that can be donated. Food, clothing, toys, whatever the house doesn’t use anymore, will be removed from our living space in the interest of creating more space for us to live. I hate clutter. It stresses the stuffing out of me. This will help me to feel more comfortable in my home, to free time from cleaning, and to bless someone else with objects that perhaps they need more than me. Let’s see how this project can change our lives! Last year, it made it possible for me to no longer require my closets to be full! This year, I’m looking forward to simplifying even further. Join me!
